Progressus Therapy provides sensory integration therapy services that focus on helping students recognize, organize, interpret and respond appropriately to the stimulation they receive both internally from their bodies and externally from their environment. A crucial part of our occupational therapy services is the implementation of sensory integration therapeutic techniques for children with autism spectrum disorders. Progressus clinicians address the sensory dysfunction that can result in hypersensitive, hyposensitive or mixed sensitivities to stimuli; avoiding or seeking sensory input; decreased body awareness; poor motor coordination; limited attention spans; passive or aggressive behaviors and more, all of which can have a negative impact on a child’s ability to learn and grow.
Our sensory intervention services may include:
- Body awareness activities
- Attention/focus strategies
- Motor planning
- Oral motor therapies
